About Creekside
Dear Creekside Families,
We are thrilled to welcome you back to another exciting school year at Creekside Community Day School! We hope this summer has been a time of rest, relaxation, and preparation for the year ahead.
At Creekside, we are committed to providing a complete and supportive learning environment for both academic and personal growth. With this goal in mind, we are offering a full range of programs and services.
Bell Schedule and Curriculum Expansions
To maximize instructional time and address the changing needs of our students, we have created a revised bell schedule. A key part of this schedule is a new group counseling class called "Peer Communication," where students will receive evidence-based group therapy. Based on student and staff feedback, we are also excited to offer new elective options including photography, film, drama, and yearbook classes to expand our students' horizons.
Expanded Counseling Services
We recognize the importance of mental health and well-being in student success. This year, we are significantly expanding our counseling services to provide each student with up to 6 hours of individual and group counseling per week, using evidence-based therapies tailored to their specific needs. We are also proud to announce partnerships with Pro-Youth and Visalia Youth Services to offer on-campus Social/Emotional Learning and Counseling support. Furthermore, we will continue our collaboration with A Solutions for drug counseling and introduce Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) on-site.
Early Reinstatement Opportunities
We believe in the power of second chances and are excited to offer early reinstatement opportunities to all Creekside students. To qualify for early reinstatement, students must maintain GOLD Status by achieving a 3.0 GPA or higher, 90% attendance or higher, no suspensions, 0-2 office referrals, completing a minimum of 5 hours of weekly counseling, finishing a community service project, and submitting a personal statement letter.
Transportation
To enhance convenience and safety, Creekside is proud to introduce door-to-door Shoebill Shuttle service for Creekside Students. Please contact our office if you are interested in this option.
Community Service and Workability
We are committed to developing well-rounded individuals. Students will have ample opportunities to earn community service hours and gain work experience both on-campus and through our partnerships.
Schoolwide Expectations
Our schoolwide expectations remain centered on fostering a positive and supportive learning community. We encourage all Shoebills to STAND for Creekside by being Safe, Thoughtful, Accountable, Neighborly, and Determined.
We are incredibly excited about the upcoming school year and the opportunities it holds for our students. We look forward to working collaboratively with you to create a successful and fulfilling experience for everyone.
Sincerely,
Principal Burgess
